Woman tests positive for COVID-19 in Odisha’s Kendrapara; 2nd case in dist

Kendrapara: A woman of Rajanagar area in Odisha’s Kendrapara district is among the four persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in the state yesterday, informed Collector Samarth Verma today.

“The patient has been admitted to a Covid Hospital. Swab samples of her family members have been collected for test. Door-to-door screening is underway in the locality,” the collector said.

She had traveled to another state and was placed under quarantine after she returned, he said.

The village and nearby villages comprising 150 households have been sealed for COVID-19 containment, he added.

Worth mentioning, this is the second COVID-19 case in the district. Earlier, a 32-year-old man of the district who returned from Dubai had tested positive for the virus.

Notably, number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha rose to 54 as four persons tested positive for the virus yesterday. The number of active cases stood at 41 as 12 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals while an elderly man had died of novel coronavirus.
