Woman trampled to death by elephant in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: A woman was crushed to death by an elephant at Nagaon in Nuagada Panchayat under Athamalik Forest Division today.

The deceased has been identified as Subhasini Nayak.

Reportedly, when Nayak had gone outside to attend nature’s call early this morning, an elephant came out of nowhere and attacked her. The woman died on the spot.

Irate over the incident, locals have staged a road blockage in the area demanding compensation for family members of the deceased. Vehicular movement has been disrupted in the area due to the protest.
