Woman who eloped with paramour ‘kills’ 3-YO daughter in Odisha

Balangir: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly killed her three-year-old daughter, whose body was recovered from a pond at Talpalipada in Balangir district this morning. The complaint has been lodged by the husband of the accused.

Reportedly, some locals found the body of the little girl with a bleeding face floating in the pond. On receiving information, her father Prasanna Bag, a resident of Thikadarpada village, rushed to the spot and recovered the body. He later went to the Town police station carrying the body and lodged a complaint alleging  that she has been killed by her mother Satya.

He alleged that his wife had eloped with her paramour on March 21 leaving her two daughters with him. Last evening, Satya came to the house and took away younger daughter Soumya with her. Satya and her paramour later killed the child, alleged Prasanna at the police station.

Acting on the complaint, police detained the accused woman and are interrogating her in this connection.
