Woman’s blood-soaked body found on roadside in Odisha’s Koida; murder suspected

Koida: The blood-soaked body of a woman was found today evening on the roadside under mysterious circumstances at Dhobalabeda village under Koida police limits in Sundargarh district.

According to a source, some locals spotted the body at around 5.30 pm. Later, they informed Koida police. The woman has severe injuries on her head and a few other parts of the body.

“A woman aged around 30 years was spotted dead in the evening. It appears to be a case of murder. She might have been hit hard on her head. Someone might have killed the woman and later thrown her body to escape the eyes of police,” some locals stated.

On being informed, a team of police led by Koida IIC Manoranjan Kumbhar reached the spot and seized the woman’s body. Police have initiated a probe into the suspicious death, which is underway.

The age and identity of the woman have not been ascertained yet, the senior cop expressed.

Body of the woman was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and a report is awaited.
