Women protest Lower Suktel project in Odisha

Women protestors today intensified the stir against Lower Suktel project in Odisha’s Balangir district demanding immediate rehabilitation of the displaced people.

The project was halted after members of Lower Suktel Mahila Mahashangh staged demonstration near the project site following which the district administration deployed three platoons of police to control the situation.

Women of 15 villages have joined the protest to press their demand for rehabilitation of displaced people and ex-gratia for the project-affected families.
