Work towards making Odisha varsities world-class: Guv

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and ex-officio Chancellor of universities Raghubar Das asked all officials concerned to focus and work hard to help varsities in the State earn fame and become top educational institutions in the world, in a high-level meeting held here today.

“Discussions were held regarding the addition of more value-added courses on cultures and traditions of Odisha. The Chancellor gave emphasis on research and innovation,” Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University professor Sabita Acharya said.

The Governor emphasised on successful implementation of the National Education Policy 2023. He also advised to carry out all day-to-day transactions in the universities through e-Office with a special focus on timely conduct and publication of exam results and improvisation in the performance of students, Fakir Mohan (FM) University Vice-Chancellor professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy expressed.

The discussion covered a few other important areas such as the enhancement of educational atmosphere on the campuses, improvement of the standard of education, and increase in staff strength.

Vice-chancellors of universities in Odisha took part in the meeting along with several others. This was the first meeting convened after the newly appointed Governor took charge of office.
