Worker dies at Vedanta Aluminium plant in Odisha

Jharsuguda: A worker died at the railway siding area on the premises of Vedanta Aluminium plant in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district last evening.

The deceased, identified as Mumtaz Khan (35) of Mangal Bazaar, initially sustained critical injuries as he was crushed between two rail wagons while those were being connected.

The victim was rushed to VIMSAR in Burla, where doctors declared him brought dead. Tension gripped the plant premises after the death as other workers and family members of the deceased gathered in front of the main gate and created ruckus.

Worth mentioning, Khan was employed in the plant by an outsourcing agency.
