World Cancer Day celebrated at inDNA Life Sciences

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of World Cancer Day, inDNA Life Sciences has reiterated its commitment towards quality cancer management and related services in eastern India.

In the current scenario of cancer management, the toxic chemotherapy has been replaced with precision therapeutics and targeted molecular management of the disease. To enable and equip the clinical community, inDNA Life Sciences has ushered a new era of hope and precision in cancer management by collaborating with the best oncologists in eastern India. The goal is to predict, prevent and personalise cancer therapeutics.

inDNA Life Sciences is the first DNA-based clinic and molecular platform innovated to offer customized solutions for identification of DNA-based changes and its impact on the health and disease outcome. In the last three decades, with the advent of high end technology and tools in molecular life sciences, there has been a transition from blood/serum/sputum/tissue, protein-based diagnostics to Nucleic Acid (DNA/RNA) based diagnostics. With the completion of human genome project and next generation rapid DNA sequencing-based platforms, there has been a global phenomenon of molecular medicine. The concept of DNA clinic is to integrate the clinicians’ requirements at the level of DNA for a personalized diagnostic support in the clinical management of every patient in a tailor made and dynamic platform at the clinical settings.

Being the only DNA-based diagnostics company which has been founded to develop indigenous DNA based platforms in India, and for the population of Indian origin, inDNA Life is now gearing up to serve the Indian population, their diagnostics need to be tailored to suit our population dynamics. The laboratory has successfully tied up or collaborated with the leading clinicians and healthcare centres in the areas pertinent to its scope of tests and services locally, nationally and internationally.

Currently, majority of FDA approved cancer drugs  come with a mandatory guidelines of DNA based gene detection for actionable changes which can then be prescribed for the right person for the right treatment. inDNA serves the purpose of not only detecting those changes in the DNA in a precise manner but also has a wonderful tool to detect some of the heritable changes(mutation) in the affected families for future risk and management of the disease. Breast cancer is one such cancer in which women can be screened for BRCA family of genes in the affected families and prevent the future onset of the disease.

The 21st century belongs to Molecular Medicine and managing disease at the DNA level which we call precision medicine and CANCER is the biggest beneficiary of these innovations. The clinical doctors and basic scientists join hands together in the effort of managing and treating cancers.

Dr. Biren Banerjee has been researching on clinical human genetics since 1999 and after finishing his education with a post-doctoral stint, he came back to India and started collaborating with clinicians to know various lacunae in Molecular Diagnostics in India. He has been funded for various projects in the last 5 years from the Government agencies and he has been correlating his techniques and methods which are developed and patented by him to offer as a DNA based diagnostic tools for detecting various conditions.

The concept of DNA clinic is to integrate the clinicians’ requirements at the level of DNA for a personalized diagnostic support in the clinical management of every patient in a tailor made and dynamic platform at the clinical settings.

inDNA has been proud to serve the people of Odisha and Eastern India and has so far serviced thousands of patients and supported their high-end diagnostics need locally in Bhubaneswar without sending the samples to far off cities like Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore. The Key opinion leaders (Oncologists, Surgeons) in the field are working together with the inDNA platform and utilizing the state-of-the-art DNA facility to help their patients and make precise diagnosis of the complex diseases.
