World Cancer Day: HCG Panda Cancer Hospital conducts awareness, screening programme

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: HCG Panda Cancer Hospital in Cuttack conducted today ‘Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme’ at Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City police commissionerate, on the occasion of World Cancer Day.

The programme was inaugurated by Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi. DCP (Twin City Traffic) Thakur Prasad and DCP (Headquarters) Itikanta Mohapatra graced the event.

HCG Panda Cancer Hospital Director Professor Dr Krupasindhu Panda, COO Shantanu Kumar Das and radiation oncologist Dr Ranjeet Kar highlighted about the worldwide presence of cancer.

About 100 policemen took part in the cancer awareness and screening programme.

The screening camps will be held every Sunday at all staff quarters and continue till March 31, 2023, a spokesperson of the cancer health facility informed.

Besides, the World Cancer Day was observed at HCG Panda Cancer Hospital in Cuttack.

The event was attended by some cancer patients, their relatives and consultants including staff of the hospital. Director Panda thanked the gathering on their participation for a noble cause.
