New Delhi: Newly-elected Lok Sabha MPs from Odisha -- Ananta Nayak and Balabhadra Majhi -- were felicitated by World Odisha Society (WOS) here recently. The MPs were offered Angabastras, bouquets and mementos on behalf of WOS during an event at Odisha Niwas. Hosted under the supervision of WOS Chairman Kishore Dwibedi and IT General Secretary and newly-elected Jajpur MP Dr Rabindra Narayan Behera, the felicitation function was attended by several members, office bearers and well wishers of the Society.
Addressing the gathering, Kishore Dwibedi made a fervent appeal to both the MPs to actively co-operate with WOS to realise the mission of building brand new and golden Odisha. Jajpur MP Dr Rabindra Narayan Behera outlined several noble initiatives being undertaken by WOS for the all-round advancement of Odisha. In his speech MP Ananta Nayak expressed his anguish over the fact that inspite of abundant natural resources, Keonjhar is still considered as one of the most backward districts of Odisha. Nayak exuded confidence that after double engine government took charge of the State, residents of Keonjhar will now definitely experience the pinnacle of prosperity at their doorsteps.
Speaking on the occasion, Balabhadra Majhi expressed his gratitude to the people of Nabarangapur for showering their overwhelming blessings on him. Because of my dedicated services towards common masses in protecting their interests and solving their problems remaining entrenched at grassroot level without making noise or media hype, the voters have shown their confidence and trust on him, Majhi added.
