Cuttack: A 14-year-old boy was killed today after he was given a wrong injection in a private hospital at Kathagola Road in Mangalabag locality in Cuttack City, the minor victim’s family alleged.

According to family sources, the boy was previously brought to the health facility for treatment as he had developed a lump on his neck. After a thorough medical checkup, doctors at the hospital advised him for surgery to permanently remove the lump. Accordingly, the minor was given injection.

The boy was quite normal beforehand and succumbed in less than an hour, the family expressed.

Subsequently, the deceased’s family lodged an FIR at Mangalabag police station. Acting on which, a team of local police reached the health facility and seized the minor’s body. Police have registered a U/d case in this connection and initiated a detailed probe into the allegation, which is underway.
