A Year After, Odisha Sun Times Rededicates Itself To Its Visitors

A year can be a long or short time depending on how one looks at it.

A year is the time when a child just about begins taking its first tentative steps. But we at Odisha Sun Times (OST) take great satisfaction from the fact that we have managed to be up and running in the year since we launched.

We look back at the year just past as a period when we learnt a lot, bungled a few times, ruffled a few feathers and – most importantly – earned the loyalty and admiration of our visitors spread all over the world.

We have tried to live up to our claim of being a 24×7 news portal focused on Odisha, though not always successfully. On this first anniversary, we promise our visitors that we would sincerely try to make amends in the second year.

On the occasion of  the first anniversary of Odisha Sun Times: 7 Nov

We take this opportunity to put on record our sincere thanks to all out visitors, who have graced our site in the last one year. Our overseas visitors deserve a special word of appreciation for having chosen OST to keep abreast of happenings back home.

As we take stock of our successes and failures in the last one year, we realise we have not really been able to involve the visitors to the extent desirable – and even essential – in an online platform like ours. Their interventions have been mostly restricted to comments on news, reports and articles published on the site.

That is why we are launching a new segment – FORUM – that would be a space meant entirely and exclusively for the thinking visitor, who may have something to say of his/her own with our role limited to that of a moderator. We request visitors to make good use of the FORUM to write – or respond – to issues of their concern.

As we enter the second year, we expect our visitors to keep showering their love and blessings, give us their valuable suggestions on the content and admonish us when we go wrong.

Thanking you once again,

Soumya Ranjan Patnaik
