Yellow alert for light to moderate rain, thundershowers in Odisha districts on March 15

Bhubaneswar: With trough running from Gangetic West Bengal to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD centre mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of North Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Maximum temperature is likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C during next two to three days and no large change in minimum thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha. No large change in the minimum temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 39.5°C was recorded at Boudh and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 19.6°C was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated) –

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore and Bhadrak.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.03.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
