Yellow alert for rainfall, lightning activities in these Odisha districts during next 4 days

Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha during the next four days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were normal over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places, below normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at one or two places, above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, and normal elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Gradual rise in maximum temperature by 2°C to 3°C during next two days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperature is gradually to rise by 2°C to 3°C during next three days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Highest maximum (day) temperature of 38.5°C was recorded at Boudh and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 20.4°C was recorded at Angul in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sundargarh, Gajapati, and Rayagada.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.03.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Jajpur.
