Yellow alert: Heat wave condition likely to continue in these Odisha districts till April 7

Bhubaneswar: With the cyclonic circulation over Odisha and neighbourhood becoming less marked, heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next four days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were above normal at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at a few places, above normal at a few places and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Gradual rise in the maximum (day) temperature by 2°C to 3°C during next three days and fall by 2°C to 4°C at many places during subsequent two days over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 41.8°C was recorded at Boudh. The lowest minimum temperature of 22.4°C was recorded at Nuapada in the plains of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.04.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Keonjhar, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nayagarh and Angul.

Warm night condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kandhamal, Boudh and Bhadrak.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.04.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
