Yellow Warning: Heavy rain to batter Odisha for next 5 days

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Yellow Warning for several districts across the state till September 24 in view of a cyclonic circulation over westcentral and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal.

The MeT centre issued Yellow Warning indicating heavy rain likely for Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Sundargarh till 1.30 PM tomorrow.

From 1.00 PM, September 19 till 8.30 AM September 20, the MeT centre issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Jharsuguda.

From 8.30 AM, September 20 till 8.30 AM September 21, the weathermen issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Khordha, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Nabarangapur.

From 8.30 AM, September 21 till 8.30 AM September 22, Yellow Warning (thunderstorm and lightning alert) has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nabrangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput.

From 8.30 AM, September 22 till 8.30 AM September 23, the Met issued heavy rainfall alert for the districts of Malkangiri and Koraput.

From 8.30 AM, September 23 till 8.30 AM September 24, Heavy rainfall warning issued for the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Puri, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea for next 05 days from September 19 to September 24.
