Young couple ends life over love failure in Odisha

Nabarangpur: In a tragic end to a love story, a young couple allegedly committed suicide over love failure at Nuaguda village in Umarkote block of Nabarangpur district late last night.

The incident came to the fore this morning after their bodies were found hanging from the ceiling of the girl’s house this morning.

Sources said the duo was in love relationship for a long time. While the girl belonged to a higher caste, the youth was Schedule Caste (SC). Last night, family members of the girl had gone to a nearby village to watch a cultural programme. After that, the girl’s lover had come to the house. It is suspected that the couple committed suicide last night.

On receiving information, Umarkote police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The reason behind the death will be ascertained once the post-mortem report comes in, said police.
