Jharsuguda: A youth, who was an engineer by profession, met his watery grave today while he was taking a bath in Koilighugar waterfall under Rengali police limits in Jharsuguda district.
The deceased was identified as Brajeswar Behera, who belonged to Bhubaneswar. Before the fatal mishap, he was working in a private firm in Sambalpur district.
According to a source, Brajeswar had come to the waterfall along with some of his friends earlier in the day for picnicking. He later went to take a bath and was swept away. He went missing and could not be traced despite a frantic search launched by Lakhanpur fire services personnel and local police.
After striving for quite a long time, the body of Brajeswar was fished out by the search team.
Rengali police registered an unnatural death (U/d) case in this connection and initiated a probe into the death. Police have sent Brajeswar’s body to a nearby health facility for post-mortem and a report is awaited.
Worth mentioning that two youths who happened to be siblings drowned in another incident yesterday while taking a bath in Gummajharan waterfall under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district.
