Bhubaneswar: A young woman was found hanging in a rented house under Bharatpur police limits in Bhubaneswar.

The deceased woman has been identified as Bishnupriya Rout. She was staying with another woman at a rented house in a slum at Bharatpur area.

According to reports, Bishnupriya was found hanging on Thursday. The police seized the body on Friday night and initiated a probe into the incident with the help of a scientific team.

The family of the deceased alleged it a 'murder' as her roommate is at large following the incident.

However, Bharatpur police refuted the family's claim and termed it a suicide.

"The body was found hanging at a house, which was closed from inside. This is a suicide case," informed Bharatpur Police IIC Dinakrushna Mishra.
