Young woman gangraped in front of boyfriend in Odisha’s Angul

In an incident similar to the infamous Delhi ‘Nirbhaya’ case, a young woman was allegedly gangraped in front of her boyfriend by five miscreants in Angul district of Odisha.

While the shameful incident took place near RTO office here a week ago, a complaint was lodged with Angul police and all the accused have been identified, reports said, adding that multiple squads have been formed to nab them.

According to sources, the victim was talking to her boyfriend near an area in front of the RTO office at around 1.30 pm on the fateful day.

The five accused arrived at the spot in the meantime and took the duo away from the place forcefully.

The young woman’s friend was thrashed by the miscreants as he protested the act.

The wrongdoers later tied him and gangraped her.

Police have initiated efforts to arrest the accused after the family members of the victim filed a complaint.
