Youth arrested for attacking father on city outskirts

Bhubaneswar: A 28-year-old youth was arrested by Dhauli police on the city outskirts for attacking father at Tikarpada village last evening.

The accused son identified as Surendra Kumar Swain was later produced before court today. He was later sent to Jharpada jail after his bail plea was rejected by the court.

Sources said Surendra had a heated argument with his father Bhaskar over some issues last evening. In a fit of rage, he attacked his father with a kitchen knife leaving him injured.

Later, Surendra’s elder brother Rabindra lodged a written complaint against the former, following which cops reached the spot and arrested Surendra.
