Youth arrested for blackmailing girlfriend in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a youth on Friday on charges of blackmailing his girlfriend with her some intimate pictures clicked with him.

The accused identified as Biswanath Dhal (20), an auto rickshaw driver from Kantilo area of Nayagarh district and is residing at Housing Board Colony in Dumuduma area on outskirts of Bhubaneswar, was arrested following camplaint by his girlfriend.

According to reports, Biswanath was into relationship with a college girl of Khandagiri area two years ago. During the period, he had clicked few intimate photographs featuring his girlfriend with him.

However, Biswanath was threatening the girl to make her photos viral on social media after she broke up relationship with him.

Later, the girl lodged a written complaint at Khandagiri police station alleging blackmailing by her former boyfriend.

Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused and forwarded him to the court.
