Youth arrested for kidnapping minor girl in Odisha

Sonepur: Local police today arrested a youth on charges of kidnapping a minor girl and forwarded him to court.

The arrested youth has been identified as Santanu Gadatiya (21) of Karlakhaman village under Sonepur police station limits of Odisha’s Subarnapur district.

According to police sources, Santanu had kidnapped a minor girl at around 3 pm on Wednesday last and was absconding.

After travelling first to Bargarh with the minor girl he had gone to Sambalpur.

While they were suspiciously moving near the petrol bunk at Ainthapalli in Sambalpur town at around 11 pm on Thursday, police after taking them to the police station subjected them to questioning.

It was here that the kidnapping of the minor came to light. Later they were brought to Sonepur by the police after being informed by their Ainthapalli counterparts.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
