Youth arrested for raping minor in Odisha’s Koraput district

Damanjodi police in Odisha’s Koraput district have arrested a youth for allegedly abducting and a raping a minor girl.

Police arrested one Mathan Patra (22) of Mathalput yesterday for abducting and raping a minor of the same area, police said today.

Following a complaint by the minor girl’s family at Damanjodi police station in this regard, police arrested Mathan and rescued the minor girl from the former’s house.

While Mathan was forwarded to court by the police, the minor girl recorded her statement before the magistrate today, police said.

Further investigation in the matter is on.
