Youth arrested in alleged murder of married woman over one-sided love affair in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police-Bhubaneswar today arrested a youth identified as Nandakishore Ojha for allegedly killing a married woman over one-sided love affair in Jharana Sahi locality near Sishu Bhawan Chhak here. The probe team recreated the crime scene with accused Nandakishore following his arrest.

According to a Capital PS source, Nandakishore is a carpenter by occupation and was known to the 20-year-old victim woman’s husband. The woman was identified as Deepika and her husband as Kunjabihari Dutta, who runs a mobile repair shop in the locality. Deepika used to assist her husband in the shop. She was killed on February 27.

On the intervening evening Nandakishore stabbed the woman to death near her residence as she did not respond to the accused youth’s one-sided love advances. She was immediately admitted to Capital Hospital and was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after her condition deteriorated. Deepika succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.

Police had earlier registered a case and launched a probe into the alleged murder leading to Nandakishore’s arrest.
