Youth atop Puri Srimandir: Temple cops served notice

Puri: The temple security is feeling the heat with regard to a youth climbing atop the Jagannath temple and removing the holy flag tied to the Nilachakra.

Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has issued a notice to three Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) officials with connection to the case.

The SJTA has sought a reply on the security lapse within 15 days from the temple security officials.

Reportedly, a mentally-challenged youth from Bhadrak scaled the height of the temple and tied his ‘gamuchha’ (cotton towel) to the Nilachakra in place of the holy flag after removing it on April 20.
