Youth beaten to death over suspected illicit affair in Odisha; 2 held

Baripada: In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly beaten to death over suspected illicit relationship late last night in Badalpur village under Baisinga police limits of Mayurbhanj district.

The police detained two persons and a scientific team reached the spot to collect more evidence.
The deceased, Badal Soren aged 24, visited the house of one Ravana Marandi in the village late last night. Suspecting Badal of having illicit relationship with Ravana’s wife and as the youth could not justify his visit, Ravana and his son, Katia Marandi along with some other villagers tied the deceased’s legs and hands.

They then thrashed Badal mercilessly with a digging bar inside the house leading to his death.

After receiving information, the police reached the spot and detained Ravana and his son for questioning.
