Youth burnt alive by family over alcoholism in Odisha

Angul: A youth was allegedly burnt alive by his family members over his repeated misbehaviour after liquor consumption at Kadalimunda village under Handapa police limits in Odisha’s Angul district.

The deceased has been identified as Rajkishore Pradhan. Police have detained his mother Basanti Pradhan and elder brother Subash Pradhan in this connection for questioning.

According to reports, Rajkishore used to create ruckus in the house after consuming liquor on regular basis. Being infuriate over Rajkishore’s act and liquor addiction, his family members poured petrol on him and set the 23-year-old youth on fire last evening.

The victim sustained 80 percent burn injuries and was taken to nearby Athmallik hospital, where doctor declared him brought dead.
