Youth can shape destiny of the country: Governor

“The youth have the ability to shape the destiny of the country for which proper channelisation of energy of this vast human resource is much important from not just a country’s point of view but that of the world”, said governor SC Jamir while inaugurating the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) 2013 at the KIIT University here on Sunday.
Finance minister Prasanna Acharya spoke about the roles played by Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Bhagat Singh and Nelson Mandela in empowering the youth.

Speaking on the occasion, founder of KIIT and KISS Achyut Samant said festivals like this greatly help channelise youth energy in a constructive direction.

There was a panel discussion on ‘Contemporary youth challenges’ by eminent actors Gulshan Grover and Kunal Kapoor.

Students from 10 countries, including Korea, Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Czech Republic and France are participating in the three-day festival.

The purpose of the camp is to develop the potential of college students and participants from other places to become leaders of the upcoming generation through fellowship and union.
