Youth charred to death in Jagatsinghpur: Cops question paramour

Jagatsinghpur: Police have started questioning a woman in connection with the death of a youth, who was found in a semi-charred condition inside a school in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.

Wife of deceased Krushna Chandra Champatiray (27) of Kanchanpur village under Chandapur police limits in Nayagarh district has alleged that her husband had an extramarital affair with the woman. She has further alleged that the woman was involved in killing him.

While the woman was interrogated at his residence in Cuttack yesterday, she will be taken to the village in Jagatsinghpur today for further probe, a police official said. Her father and two sisters were also questioned over the incident.

It may be recalled here that Champatiray was found in a half-burnt state inside a school in Daagaon village under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsinghpur district on October 5 night. He was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
