Youth climbs atop 132 KV overhead transmission tower in Odisha’s Kendrapara, dies

Balichandrapur: A youth climbed atop a 132 KV overhead transmission tower in Balichandrapur under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district, today. However, the youth later got electrocuted.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Bachan Ghadei, who belonged to Ghadei Sahi.

According to a private source, the youth was in an inebriated condition when he climbed the tower. A large number of local residents congregated near the tower requesting him to get down. However, he did not listen to the requests of people and started dancing and waving his shirt.

Bachan came in contact with a live wire of the transmission tower leading to his death.

“After coming in contact with a live wire, the youth fell down and died,” some locals said.
