Youth critical in firing in Odisha Capital over suspected past enmity

Bhubaneswar: A youth was critically injured after two miscreants opened fired in Odisha Capital today evening. As per latest reports, the youth was drinking juice at a juice centre located near Dumduma Chhak under Khandagiri police limits. One Agnee from Sarakantara and his associate reached near the juice stall and opened fire at point-blank range.

The youth at the juice stall sustained critical head injury in the firing. Following the incident, shops in the locality downed theirs shutters and people ran for a cover.

Some locals rushed the injured to the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

After receiving information, the Khandagiri police reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Though the exact reason for the attack is unknown, past enmity is suspected to be the cause behind the incident.

Sources said Agnee is a history-sheeter and had been lodged in jail several times.
