Youth dies in knife attack in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A youth died after sustaining critical injuries in a knife attack at Matia Mangala Sahi in Jobra area of Odisha’s Cuttack city late last night.

The deceased, identified as Tapan Nayak, was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Family members of Tapan have alleged that two youths of the area barged into their house last night and attacked Tapan with knife. The incident was a fallout of a dispute over fishing at Jobra barrage, they said.

Malgodown police have started investigation into the incident after registering a murder case. Several criminal cases were pending against the deceased, police sources said.
