Youth found hanging inside hotel in Odisha; woman detained

Dhenkanal: A youth was found hanging from the ceiling of a hotel room he had checked in along with a woman in Dhenkanal last evening.

Mystery deepens over his death as the deceased youth identified as Bijay Maity was looted of gold and cash while returning from Cuttack accompanied by the woman earlier yesterday. However, police have detained the woman, Subhashree Sahu, for interrogation.

Sources said  Bijay, who was engaged in gold business in Bhuban area, was returning from Cuttack  along with Subhashree carrying cash and gold on his motorcycle. Midway, three miscreants came on a motorcycle and intercepted them near Choudwar. Later, the miscreants threatened the two before decamping with the valuables. After reaching Dhenkanal in the evening, the two checked in to the hotel. This morning,  Bijay was found hanging from the ceiling of the room.

However, no police complaint was lodged for the loot till the filing of this report. Meanwhile, Town police sent the body for post-mortem and began an investigation into the incident.
