Youth held for threatening health worker in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara: The police detained a youth for allegedly threatening a woman health worker in Kendrapara district today. The youth, Biswa Ranjan Parida also brandished a gun at the health worker.

After a resident of Patrapur area under Aul police station tested COVID-19 positive, the health worker was sent to the area to collect swab samples of the contacts of the corona patient. While the health worker was performing her duty, the youth reached the sample collection centre and misbehaved with the health worker.

As per a complaint lodged by the health worker, Biswa Ranjan also brandished a gun and threatened her for life.

After receiving information, the BDO and local police officials reached the sample collection centre and detained the youth.

In his reaction, Kendrapara Collector Samarth Verma said strict action will be taken against anyone who attacks a corona warrior.
