Youth meets watery grave while taking bath in river in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Picnic turned tragic for a youth in Odisha’s Rourkela city. The youth, identified as Trilochan Mahakuda from Madhusudanpali area of the city met watery grave while taking bath along with three of his friends in Shankha river near Chikatamati today.

After Mahakuda slipped into deep water, he could not swim to save himself. But his three friends managed to save themselves by swimming to the river bank.

Upon receiving information, the Fire personnel launched a rescue operation and fished out the body of Mahakuda. The local police also reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.

Few days back two friends drowned and one became critical while picnicking at Tetarakela ghat of Koel river in Bisra of Sundargarh district.
