Youth murdered over petty issue in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A youth was allegedly thrashed to death over a petty issue at Nuagaon under Naugaon police limits in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district late last night.

According to reports, Bandhan Mohanty of the village went to a local shop and asked for cigarette. The shopkeeper refused to give him cigarette, following which a fight ensued between the two.

Moments later, the shopkeeper and some locals thrashed Bandhan. He was rescued by police and admitted to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment this morning.

Police have started investigation into the incident and detained the shopkeeper for questioning.
