However, some eyewitnesses have alleged to the Government Railway Police at Bolangir that the concerned youth who didn’t have a ticket was pushed down from the running train by a train ticket examiner (TTE).

The identity of the deceased youth is yet to be established, however, from his dress, he appeared to be a labourer.

According to report lodged by eyewitnesses, three TTEs of Tatanagar were examining tickets of the passengers after the train departed from Titlagarh railway station.

The concerned youth was first abused by a TTE since he didn’t possess a ticket, the TTE holding the youth by his collar pushed him down from the running train through the bogey’s door, the report added.

Following the shocking incident tension mounted inside the train with scuffles between passengers and TTEs. On the train reaching Saintala station, passengers went to lodge complaint with the GRP. Since there were no GRP men at Saintala station, passengers reported about the incident verbally to the GRP at Bolangir railway station.

On the other hand, on being informed staff of Badmal station located the body of the youth in a nullah near pillar 27 km between Titlagarh and Badmal stations around afternoon on Saturday.

The body was seized by Bolangir GRP personnel. GRP after getting post-mortem done on the body has registered an unnatural death case.

Sources revealed that Bolangir GRP has summoned the TTEs who were on duty in the concerned train to report to it on Monday for taking investigations ahead.
