Youth strangled to death by friends in Odisha

Berhampur: A youth was strangled to death allegedly by his friends at Ekalpur village under Badagada police limits in Ganjam district today.

The deceased was identified as Sitaram Das.

Police detained one accused in connection with the murder. However, the exact reason behind the incident is yet unclear.

According to reports, Sitaram was allegedly attacked by his two friends identified as Jitu Rout and Jilu Nayak following heated arguments over some issue. He died on the spot.

While Jitu was caught by the locals and was handed over to police, another accused Jilu managed to flee the spot.
