Youth tied, thrashed for ‘bicycle theft’ in Odisha

Soro: A youth was assaulted without mercy for allegedly stealing a bicycle here in Odisha’s Balasore district today.

The victim was identified as Siraj Khan from Jaleswar area of Balasore district.

According to reports, Siraj was caught by locals after he looted a bicycle from house of a resident namely Nirakar Parida under Soro block in the afternoon.

The irate locals tied him to an electric pole on a street road and thrashed him for the ‘theft’.

Sources said that the youth attempted to steal in inebriated state.

Till filing of the report, police were yet to reach the spot to rescue the youth.
