Youth trying to resolve conflict stabbed to death in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: A man was stabbed to death with a knife over property dispute in Badakheta village under Purunakote police station limits in Angul district this evening.

There was a long standing dispute between one Kuna Bhoi and Duari Bhoi of the village over a piece of land. However, the conflict heightened on Wednesday night and the duo engaged in an intense verbal duel. In the meantime, Baraju Pradhan of the village reached the spot and tried to mediate to resolve the quarrel between the two persons.

In a fit of rage, Duari brought a knife from his kitchen and attacked Baraju killing him in on the spot. Following the incident, Duari has been absconding.

After getting information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem. Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s wife, police have launched an investigation.
