1 dead on spot after Hyva truck rams into scooter in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Rajnagar: A scooterist was killed on the spot as the two-wheeler on which he was travelling had a head-on collision at Nuagaon Chhak of Ghadiamala locality in Kendrapara district, today morning.

The deceased youth was identified as Harischandra Pandav, who belonged to the village.

According to a source, the speeding Hyva truck was on its way to elsewhere in the district when it met with an accident. The driver of the four-wheeler lost control of the vehicle leading to the fatal mishap.

Tension erupted in the nearby areas following the fatal road mishap. Incensed locals staged a blockade at Nuagaon Chhak on Rajnagar-Bhitarkanika main road demanding adequate compensation.

In an accident that took place late yesterday night, two youths were killed after being hit by a car near Baduli Chhak under Simulia police limits in Balasore district.

The deceased youths were identified as Rashmiranjan Dhal (27) and Satyajit Nayak (18).

A source said that the youths were returning home from the house of a relative when the mishap occurred and the two-wheeler had a head-on collision with the car (OD-01 AG-9292).

Rashmiranjan died on the spot and Satyajit while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
