12 places in Odisha record day temperature above 40 degrees Celsius; Baripada hottest

Bhubaneswar: Residents in many places of the State today experienced hot and humid day as temperatures at 12 places touched 40 degrees Celsius or above.

As per the data provided by the Regional Meteorological Centre here, Baripada recorded the highest day temperature at 42.6 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Balangir 42.5 degrees Celsius and Jharsuguda 42.4 degrees Celsius.

Other places where day temperature was above 40 degrees Celsius were: Sonepur 42.1 degrees Celsius, Boudh 42 degrees Celsius, Angul 41.9 degrees Celsius, Titlagarh 41.6 degrees Celsius, Sambalpur 41.4 degrees Celsius, Sundargarh 41 degrees Celsius, Hirakud 40.9 degrees Celsius, Bhawanipatna 40.8 degrees Celsius, and Talcher 40.2 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday, 11 places in the State recorded 40 degrees Celsius or above. Sonepur was the hottest at 42.3 degrees Celsius.
