2 more Omicron cases detected in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Two more persons in Odisha were found infected with the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 today. With this, the state’s tally of the new variant surged to four.

As per official sources, the two infectees aged 11 and 15 years, both girls, are returnees of “non at-risk” country Nigeria. Currently, they are undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, informed Institute of Life Science (ILS) Director Ajay Parida.

Earlier on December 21, the state reported first two Omicron cases, with both having travel history to Nigeria and Qatar. Both the infectees were male aged about 41 years and 43 years, hailing from Jagatsingpur and Khordha districts.
