Angul: A retail and a wholesale outlet were sealed today for selling fake medicines in Angul town and this district. Allegedly, the two outlets were dealing in spurious ‘Pantocid DSR’ capsules.

According to a source, a task force of Odisha Drugs Control Administration was tipped off that Maa Budhi Medicine Store located near old bus stand in the town was involved in the illegal activity. Swinging into action, the Administration carried out a raid and found a good stock of the drug.

The retailer had purchased the capsules from Ganapati Enterprises in Amalapada locality.

Worth mentioning, the medicine is used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer. It is also used to treat dyspepsia, heart burn, epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting.
