3 engineering girl students test COVID positive in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Amid reports of 28 fresh COVID-19 cases detected from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar and spike in cases in Odisha, three girl students of a private engineering college located on the outskirts of the city have tested positive for the virus.

All of them are hostel boarders. While two of them reportedly returned to their house in Jajpur district after contracting the virus, another student underwent isolation in the hostel.

Swab samples of the three were tested in Khordha after they developed COVID-19 symptoms. Contact tracing in connection with the three cases was underway.

Notably, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed the XIMB campus following detection of several COVID-19 cases.
