5 WB grooms return as denied entry into Odisha

Balasore: Wedding day celebrations turned sour for at least five grooms of West Bengal as they and their family members were denied entry into Odisha as they lacked RT-PCR COVID negative report/vaccination certificate.

They grooms were heading towards their respective wedding venues in Balasore, Bhadrak and other nearby districts. They were asked to produce RT-PCR COVID negative report/vaccination certificate at Laxmannath Check Gate on West Bengal-Odisha border.

As they failed to show the documents, the authorities asked them to return. Though they repeatedly requested the authorities to allow them to proceed, but in vain.

Worth mentioning, the Odisha Government has made RT-PCR COVID negative report/vaccination certificate mandatory for those coming from West Bengal in view of the detection of triple mutant variant of Covid-19.
