7-yr-old Odisha boy electrocuted atop transformer while trying to catch bird

Malkangiri: Tragedy struck a small village under Khairaput block in Malkangiri district after death of a 7-year-old boy, who was electrocuted while trying to catch a bird this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rajendra Sisa of Patanaguda village.

According to reports, Rajendra had been trying to catch a bird since morning. After he spotted the bird atop a transformer, without noticing anything he started climbing the electrical equipment to catch the bird following which he was electrocuted.

The body was spotted by the locals hanging from the transformer pole.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot to recover the body from the transformer.
