‘Accidental’ firing injures woman bank staff in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A woman bank staff in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar sustained bullet injuries after gun of a security guard of the bank went off accidentally, reports said.

The incident took place at Bank of India’s Gandamunda branch here.

The victim, identified as Aditi Singh, has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

On the other hand, Karunakar Sethi, the security guard, has been arrested. Sethi, an ex-armyman was working with the nationalised bank since five years.

“The firearm went off accidentally while loading bullets,” Branch Manager Sasmita Rath said.
