ACF Death Mystery: Accused DFO to be interrogated in due time

Paralakhemundi: With mystery continues to shroud the death of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Saumya Ranjan Mohapatra, Gajapati SP Tapan Patnaik today informed that accused DFO Sangram Keshari Behera will be interrogated in due course of time.

“Since the DFO’s name has been mentioned in the FIR, he will be questioned in due time. A cyber expert has been hired by the Crime Branch team to examine call details and other things,” said the senior cop.

Besides, Gurandi police station OIC Mamata Panda, who happens to be the sister-in-law of ACF’s wife Bidya Bharati Panda, will also be questioned as to why the ambulance carrying Saumya Ranjan was stopped for a while midway, he further said.

“Proper investigation of the incident is underway from all angles. Dying declaration of the deceased has been video recorded. However, post-mortem report has not come yet,” the SP added.

Earlier in the day, a handwritten note of the ACF’s wife surfaced, in which the woman had mentioned that she hated her husband. Police have already seized the note from the ACF’s residence here.
